Embark on a Journey of Wildlife Artistry: The Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show

Since its humble beginnings in 1988, the Columbia Flyway Show has stood as a testament to the exquisite beauty of hand-carved waterfowl and wildlife. Originating from the vision of the Feather and Quill Carvers Club, this event has grown into a beloved tradition revered by carvers and enthusiasts across the nation.

What began as a modest endeavor has blossomed into an annual gathering that showcases the finest craftsmanship and artistry in the realm of wood carving. Through dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment, the Columbia Flyway Show has become a cornerstone of the carving community, attracting talents from far and wide to participate and celebrate their shared love for the craft

Over the years, the show has grown and flourished, moving from modest venues like the Columbia Art Center to larger spaces like motel conference rooms and the City of Vancouver's Water Resources Education Center. After a remarkable 10-year tenure in Vancouver, the show reached new heights with its relocation to Astoria, Oregon, on the stunning Oregon Coast.

The Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show has earned its place as one of the premier wildlife carving shows in the country, thanks to the dedication of a passionate group of carvers and artists, as well as its affiliation with the International Wildfowl Carvers Association. Carvers from across the United States and Canada converge to participate in the competition, exchange knowledge, and celebrate their shared love for the craft.

The show's new home at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds and Expo Center boasts a spacious 15,000-square-foot exhibit hall, providing ample space for displays, vendors, and demonstrations. A highlight of the event is the series of seminars conducted by professional and world-champion carvers, offering attendees the opportunity to learn and refine their skills.
