 Get Involved/Volunteer

The Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show is a small group of volunteers that are dedicated to the preservation of wildlife carving. Carving shows are an important tool for artists to learn and display their craft. The Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show strives to make the event three full, nonstop days of learning from some of the best carvers in North America. Many carvers sell their pieces at these shows.

A show of the magnitude of the Columbia Flyway Show is a huge undertaking. We are always looking for motivated people to get involved. There are many different ways that you can help. Here are but a few.

  1. Volunteer to help on the days of the show.

We always need volunteers with tasks on the days of the show. We need people with computer skills, clerks for recording the contests, food preparation, and the list goes on. Let us know if you can help, and we will put you to work.

  2. Volunteer to be on our Show Planning Committee.

We are a small group of planners sharing a love for the art form and carving shows. We can always use more volunteers to help share the tasks of planning the show. We are doing a lot of our planning virtually as a result of the Covid Virus. With virtual planning, a person can live some distance away and help with the planning.

  3. Volunteer to do a seminar.

We are always looking for accomplished artists to do one-hour, two-hour, or an all-day pay seminar at our show. This is the model we have successfully used to grow the Columbia Flyway Show. If you would like to give a seminar about any of these subjects: birds, mammals, fish, or NW Coastal Native American Carving, please contact us.

  4. Purchase annual Club Membership.

Our annual membership dues go towards funding our show. Dues are $25 per year. Please help us by becoming a Feather and Quill Member.

  5. Be a Carving Contest Division Sponsor.

We are looking for individuals, groups, or businesses that would become cash sponsors of one or more of our divisions at the show. It only costs $250 to be a Division Sponsor and helps us tremendously for not only this year’s show but for planning shows in the future. Pick a Division that is your passion, and sponsor it. Divisions include Waterfowl, Birds, Mammals, Fish, and NW Coastal Native American Carvings.

  6. Sponsor a Purchase Award.

At our show, we have a lot of wonderful purchase award sponsors. The sponsor funds a contest. The sponsor receives the winning carving and the carver receives the money. The sponsor can designate the subject and species to be carved. This is a great way to help out the show and build your personal collection of fine wildlife art.

  7. A cash donation to the Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show Association (CFWSA).

All cash donations go towards the production of our annual show.

  8. An auction and/or raffle item donation to the Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show Association (CFWSA).

All cash donations go towards the production of our annual show.

For making donations, check out our “Pay Online” tab, under “Event Details” at the top of the website page. For all other donations, or to volunteer in any other way, please contact one of the planners that are listed under “Contact Us”, on our website.

It would not be possible to plan and organize a show like the Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show, without your help.  Thank you!!!
